I attended a small private university, in a small town, and had the opportunity to start testing and working with clients at the age of 19 (under strict supervision and training). I have worked in a community mental health office for several years, did my internship at the James A. Haley V.A. Hospital in Tampa, and completed my residency while on the faculty at USF and in supervised independent practice.
I earned a PH.D. in Psychology in 1983. I am a Clinical Psychologist, trained as both a scientist and a as a practitioner. My varied interests reflect my training and career.

I was on the faculty at the Florida Mental Health Institute (a college of USF) and had a part-time independent practice in Tampa, all prior to starting full-time independent practice in Saint Petersburg, Florida, in 1985. I see a variety of clients in my practice and I consult frequently with organizations, and in litigation cases involving psychiatric/mental injury, and disability. I work with children and families going through divorce.
I have maintained an interest in biological influences on behavior. I created one of the first outpatient cognitive rehabilitation programs for victims of Traumatic Brain Injury in Florida. I have extensive training and experience in the treatment of chronic pain and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I am a Senior Fellow of the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance
I provide psychological therapy for individuals, couples and families. I treat the full range of emotional difficulties. Many of my clients are in therapy to enhance personal and professional growth. I have an extensive background in working with couples, and have experience in both research and treatment for dual career couples. I treat individuals from the ages of 8 to 80.
I have been performing psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for over 40 years.
I perform Fitness for Duty evaluations for employees of businesses and organizations.
I perform psychological evaluations for a variety of reasons, including ADHD, Learning DIsabilities, Vocational Rehabilitation, and personality evaluations.
I served as a Medical Advisor for the Social Security Office of Hearings and Appeals for Disability Determination, for over 25 years and regularly perform disability evaluations for both patients and insurance companies, for Social Security and private insurance disability applications.
